Trampoline Park Training
Have you seen those free skiers and riders in the halfpipe and on the trampoline park going big and sticking sick moves? Do you want to drop in and show your stuff but don't want to look like a fool, or worse, look like a fool and suffer a season-ending injury?
You need to practice where the only consequence of missing a trick is that you have to climb back up and try it again. Does this place really exist? Yes, this place is Woodward at Copper . At Woodward at Copper, you can practice your tricks in a safer, more controlled, and supportive environment.
Start in the trampoline zone with spotters. Harnesses are available for practicing more advanced stunts.
Special foam snowboards can be used on the trampolines to get used to the feeling of being strapped to a board while performing your tricks. Once you have mastered the tricks with foam snowboards, you can move up to actual snowboards that have had the edges removed for safety to the trampoline as well as to the guest.
After practicing on the trampolines, you are ready to move to the jumps and rails. These indoor practice hills are covered with Snowflexx, an artificial snow surface. It simulates the feel of snow, but it isn't as deep, so edging and turning will be a little different. The staff will give you time to get the feel of Snowflex® before attempting your tricks.
You can launch from some of the trampolines into a deep pit of foam cubes. When landing in the middle of a large foam pit, the staff will swing you a rope. You can pull yourself out and "Tarzan" to the side.
Woodward at Copper has a series of jumps and rails at the facility. The large jump features a set of three kickers and a 42-degree incline on the approach.
The rail line consists of a box, an interchangeable rail, and a quarter pipe with a log stall feature at the top.
Cameras are trained on the jump features with a 30-second delay, giving each guest time to climb out of the foam pit and analyze their technique.
The facility also includes areas for skateboarding and BMX - there is a huge 6 ft to 8 ft bowl, a 4 ft mini-ramp, a 2 ft micro-mini ramp, a 1600 sq ft street course, as well as a 5 ft skatelite drop into the foam pit.
This is not your normal ski school. You do not have to be a professional athlete to participate in Woodward at Copper, however, you do need to have at least an intermediate level of ski or snowboard experience. Whether you are a terrain park newbie, a professional athlete, an adventurous parent, or part of a corporate team building group, the environment is 100% supportive. Everyone is here to learn and a learning environment is characterized by spills and thrills. Terrain park newbies brush elbows with professional-level athletes. What a great place to pick up a few pointers for beginning terrain park enthusiasts.
Many professional athletes and teams have come through Woodward at Copper. There is a wall of fame with signatures of several world-class competitors, such as Olympic medalist Gretchen Bleiler.
The staff at Woodward at Copper is comprised of up-and-coming and top-notch professional athletes. Safety is stressed throughout. An introductory training session (the One Hit Wonder Session) is required of those wishing to come in for Drop-In sessions. Each feature is attended by staff. The staff will control traffic so that the pits are clear before the next participant is cleared to go.
