Does parents understand the importance of the indoor jungle gym?
We may often hear some people complain about their children's problem. Indeed, regardless of the times, generation gaps still exist. Judging from current trends, the barrier between parents and children has become even thicker. Parents share so little time chatting with their kids as if they were their best friends. With the fast speed of modern technological development, it becomes even more difficult to go to children and heart and have a deep understanding about their need. Reasons lead to the result vary greatly, but the main factor is that parents are thinking from their own benefit instead their children's. Some may against my opinion, saying that everything parents have done is for children's future development. While it is a good way of educating by ask them to give up all the indoor playground activities.
To begin with, the complexity and diversity in the modern world may be a major contributor to such a problem. The third wave in this era led to an information explosion. Under its overwhelming impacts, no children can stay completely untouched. Ever since the first day they were allowed to sit before the computer screen, they have begun to endure the wave power of the internet. As time goes by, access to diversified and complicated online sources will inevitably affect their innocent minds. It also beyond the parents' ability to bring them totally under control. As a result, more and more teenagers are becoming mature rapidly and earlier. The way they behave and think bring a lot of shock to their parents. Therefore, as the gaps are getting wider, parents really need to think out a way to rebuild the relationship between them.
Furthermore, the faster pace of life leaves very limited time for parents to communicate with their children. The unmatched competitiveness in society nowadays has urged most workers to turn themselves into busy bees. Seldom do they have enough time for leisure. The situation is even tougher for working parents. They have failed to keep the balance between their family life and work, let alone sit down quietly and have an in-depth conversation with their children. Thus, as time goes on, a mental border between them might gradually show up, hindering good mutual understanding. By the way, working for a long period of time without taking a break do harm to their body and would make them in bad mood, which would frighten the kids and keep them from talking to their angry parents.
On a whole, it is of great importance for parents to find a balance between family life and work so that they can shorten the gap with their children. Indoor jungle gym is the most suitable place I can think of so far to both satisfy the need of parents to take a rest and the need of children to have fun. And in indoor jungle gym, parents would seize more opportunities to have a talk with their children and would know their children better. Thus, in order to narrow the gap, parent ought not to go to the indoor jungle gym as often as possible.
